Payton Shubrick
Born and raised in Springfield, MA Payton Shubrick is a proud graduate of Springfield Central High School, College of the Holy Cross, and Bay Path University.
The oldest of four children, Payton is a natural leader and innovative thinker who enjoys new challenges facing emerging industries. After reading Michelle
Alexander’s The New Jim Crow, Payton became inspired to participate in the cannabis industry to engage the community of Springfield which has been disproportionally impacted by cannabis prohibition. She started 6 Brick’s LLC with the help of her parents and sister showing that a family-owned business has a place in this industry. Focused on “people, plant, and purpose”, Payton strives to debunk myths around the use of cannabis within the community while being a good neighbor. 6 Brick’s hosted a grand opening on September 24th, 2022 with notable speakers including the Mayor of Springfield, State Representatives, and a proclamation from the Springfield City Council. Staying true to her commitment to engaging more women, people of color and aspiring entrepreneurs in the cannabis industry, she is an Adjunct Professor at American International College teaching graduate cannabis courses.
Additionally, she works as a facilitator for Smallify, aninnovation capacity-building firm and sits on four non-profit boards.
