Statement from Equitable Opportunities Now! Co-Founder Shanel Lindsay regarding Cannabis Social Equity Advisory Board appointments

“Black and Brown entrepreneurs have waited far too long for an opportunity to participate in this new industry after years of criminalization have decimated their communities. We look forward to partnering with these impressive new Advisory Board members, Gov. Healey, Secretary Hao, and the Administration to ensure this new grant and loan fund program is created and administered equitably.”

In response to the appointments of the inaugural members of the Cannabis Social Equity Advisory Board by Governor Maura Healey, Treasurer Deb Goldberg, and former Gov. Charlie Baker — and Gov. Healey’s appointment of Yvonne Hao as secretary of economic development — Equitable Opportunities Now! Co-Founder Shanel Lindsay issued the following statement:

“I first want to congratulate all of the distinguished appointees and thank all of them for their work to create a more equitable cannabis industry, and thank Gov. Healey, Treasurer Goldberg, and former Gov. Baker for faithfully implementing this historic new law,” said Equitable Opportunities Now! Co-Founder Shanel Lindsay.
